The NPA Mine Action Programme in Croatia was established in September 2001, from funding provided by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The long-term objective of NPA’s mine action programme in Croatia is to facilitate the resumption of normal life, free from the threat of mines and UXO for the existing and returning populations of Southern and North-Western Croatia.  According to the estimated figures presented by the Croatian Mine Action Centre (CROMAC) around 700,000 mines and UXOs still remain undetected in Croatia.
